The Figueiredo House - Villa in Lotoulim

This is a wheelchair-friendly homestay. Pets are not allowed.

The Space:

GUEST ROOMS
- The entire stay houses 2 separate units - the homestay for guests and the owner’s private residence which also comprises the in-house museum.
- Guests do not have access to the owner’s private residence.
- Memories of the family who lived and loved here are tangible throughout the homestay. The space is dotted with implements, paintings, photographs, temple and altar ornaments, and more. But none more so than the gorgeous guest rooms which are named for many of them. 
- The Figueiredo House homestay has a total of 8 guest rooms with ensuite bathrooms, including one family suite which has 2 double rooms. 
- Each guest room here has a significant name; Amalia, Georgina, Elsa, Garca/Especiosa, Vicente Joao, Zito, Manuel and Caetano.
- Each room is self-contained and may be booked individually. 
- Every room is furnished with a luxurious antique bed, self tea/coffee service, mini fridge, antique wardrobe, garment stand, dressing table, comfortable seating, and occasionally, a charming window seat. 
- A ventilation system unique in the construction of this house, coupled with fan and air conditioning ensure a comfortable stay in the room. 
- Modern fitted bathrooms with snow white linen and care accessories stand in contrast to the antiquity of the furniture. 

BATHROOMS
- There are 8 ensuite bathrooms.
- All bathrooms are equipped with geysers, towels, hair dryers, and sundry toiletries.

INDOOR AREAS
- The rustic and vintage interiors of this fantastic mansion feature beautiful lounge areas. Discover cozy nooks, gardens, a game room, a bar and pool, bay windows, and more as you amble through. 
- The communal TV room features a blend of antique furniture and modern TV and a home-theatre system, with Wi-Fi access. 
- The room is not air-conditioned.
- The Homestay dining area consists of 2 rooms; a large and airy space offering a view of the paddy fields across the mansion, and a smaller, more intimately furnished dining room for smaller groups. 
- Done in earthy shades of yellow and white, the cheerful and calm rooms have dining tables to simultaneously seat up to 12 and 6 people respectively.
- The dining rooms are not air-conditioned.
- All the rooms are situated around a square courtyard. The interiors of the homestay feature beautiful lounge areas with cozy nooks, gardens, a game room, the bar and pool, bay windows and more. 
- Curl up with your favourite book and a hot cuppa under a rustic lamp, in a comfy antique lounger.
- Lounge on divans or sofas overlooking courtyards, for a quiet chat or family games. 
- Find your spot at the wood-and-glass bar, en-route to the pool and rear garden.
- The Figueiredo House comprises the Homestay and The Private Residence (not accessible to guests), which also houses the family museum.
- Replete with art, artifacts, and furniture, it tells the story of the gracious and productive lives that the family lived and the legacy they choose to share with visitors.
- A tour of the museum is complimentary for guests residing at the homestay. Tours can be arranged with prior booking at the homestay reception.

OUTDOOR AREAS
- The outdoor areas feature lush green lawns with local plants and flowers. 
- Sit on the balcão, benches, or around the century-old mango tree.
- Walk the stepping stone path, and gaze out on the serenity of egrets in the trees beyond the fields.
- Guests can enjoy a fun barbecue meal here under a starlit sky. Please enquire at reception for prices.
- Unwind with a dip in the refreshing blue waters of the outdoor swimming pool which is 29x13 ft. in size and 6 ft. deep.
- Soak in the vivid hues of the sky from dusk till dawn as you lounge around the pool.
- Guests can access the pool from 7 AM to 8 PM.
- Guests can request pool towels at the reception. Bath towels from the room should not be taken to the pool.
- Guests can catch a glimpse of the vivid hues of the sky from dusk till dawn while soaking in the cool blues of the swimming pool.

KITCHEN
- Guests do not have access to the kitchen.
- The homestay kitchen can prepare pre-ordered meals with a prior intimation of 24 hours at an additional charge.

FOOD
- Breakfast is complimentary.
- All Goan and Portuguese meals can be provided in-house on prior request at an additional charge.
- Lunch/dinner suited to dietary restrictions can be prepared on prior notice, in consultation with the kitchen. Guests are advised to inform us of their meal preferences in advance.
- To satisfy those middle-of-the-afternoon cravings, a snack menu is available at reception.
- Please note that a group of 15-24 guests can bring outside food in from outside at an additional cost of Rs. 5000 per day.

- Consumption of non-vegetarian food is allowed.

GUEST ACCESS
The guests have access to the entire homestay except for the kitchen. Guests do not have access to the owner’s private residence on the same premises. Access to the in-house museum can be provided with prior permission.

INTERACTION WITH GUESTS
The host is present at the property and is always accessible via call or message. A trained and responsible server is present to resolve any concerns and help you have a perfect stay. The server will be available till 10:00 PM.

STAFF ACCOMMODATION
We are unable to provide accommodation for your personal staff.

The airy sit-out spaces and interiors are quite ideal to immerse yourself in some light reading. Guests can explore, stroll or play along the lawn overlooking the surrounding greenery. The guests can also visit the in-house museum with prior permission. Grab your preferred choice of drink at the bar. Catch screenings of some up-and-coming rom-coms and action thrillers on the home theatre system. Venture out and explore the nearby treks, Goan markets, eateries, and of course the beaches. This charming homestay is bound to leave you with a trove full of memories.

- For alcohol requirements, guests may avail of the bar. Rates are as per the bar menu.

HOME TRUTHS
While we do promise you a welcoming home and a great stay, here are a few things we’d like to mention so as to ensure there are no unpleasant surprises later!
- Check-in is at 2 PM. Check-out is at 11 PM. Guests are requested to adhere to the check-in and check-out timings.
- While this is a standalone, wheelchair-friendly homestay, guests must provide prior intimation of requiring the same before arrival.
- The Figueiredo House homestay has a total of 8 guest rooms, including one family suite which has 2 double rooms. It can accommodate up to 17 guests on double occupancy. Each room is self-contained and may be booked individually. 
- An extra bed in a room can be provided on request and at an extra charge. Guests are advised to enquire about charges at the time of booking. Mattresses on the floor are not permitted.
- Note that guests may get a different guest room than the one shown, as room allotment is subject to availability.
 - Guests are requested to refrain from drying wet clothes and towels on the furniture/ floor in the rooms or in the common areas. Guests may ask housekeeping for drying space in the rear garden.
- Bath towels are changed every 2 days.
- Please ensure that fans, lights, and air-conditioners are switched off when you are not in the room.
- All room windows are fitted with mosquito netting. However, the homestay is located near fields, hence guests are requested to remain cautious of bugs and insects, especially during the monsoon.
- The common indoor areas are not air-conditioned.
- All mobile networks work fairly well here. Guests can stay connected with complimentary Wi-Fi. Network is subject to availability at any given time.
- In case of a power outage, the 3.5 KVA inverter can support a light and a fan in each room for up to 3 hours. Power points to charge phones are available only at reception.
- Guests are advised to carry power banks for their phones/laptops, in the event of power outages.
- Guests are advised to eat their meals in the dining room or in the gazebos in the rear garden, not inside the room for reasons of hygiene and maintenance.
- All-male groups are not allowed.
- Parties and events are permitted only with prior permission from the owner.
- Parking is complimentary. Please follow the markers on the ground.
- For security, CCTV cameras capture the living room and external areas of the property at all times.
- Service staff will be available between 8 AM and 10 PM. 
- This is not a pet-friendly homestay.

POOL RULES
- Timings - 7 AM - 8 PM.
- There is no lifeguard. Children must be supervised at all times while they are in or around the pool.
- No diving or running around the pool area.
- Food/drinks are not permitted around the pool. 
- Pool towels can be requested at reception. Do not use bath towels at the pool.

HOUSE RULES
- Alcohol is not permitted to be brought into the homestay. The in-house bar may be used for alcohol purchase and consumption 
- Smoking is allowed in the exterior areas of the homestay only. 
- The Figueiredo House is also home to its owners. Guests are not permitted in private areas.
- Please be mindful, treat the home with care, and keep noise to a minimum after 9:30 pm.

POLICIES
- Full payment must be made for your booking to be confirmed.
- The number of guests must not exceed the count mentioned at the time of booking.
- Only the guests who have been accounted for are allowed at the homestay.
- All guests must be able to share valid ID proof when asked. This could be at the time of booking, and also upon arrival.
- All foreign nationals must be able to share their passport and visa details prior to their stay.
- Any damage to the property caused by the guest will be charged as per the actual cost of repair or replacement.
- Any illegal activity - including but not limited to prostitution and the use of narcotics - is strictly not permitted.
- Any commercial activity is strictly not permitted.
- A refundable deposit may be collected before check-in. 
- This entire amount is refunded within 5 working days, provided the total number of guests does not increase and the check-out time is adhered to.

- Guests are requested to provide a negative RT PCR/RAT test taken within the last 12 hours at the time of check-in.
- If a guest is not carrying the same on arrival, Covid test kits are available at the property (charged),  to be taken before entry into the homestay.
